1Medical is committed to conducting its business activities in an environmentally responsible, sustainable, and legally compliant manner. We recognise our responsibility to minimise environmental impacts, reduce pollution, support sustainable practices, and contribute positively towards environmental protection and climate action, and we are committed to integrating environmental management and sustainability principles into our operational activities, procurement processes, facilities management, and service delivery.
Our principles
1Medical will conduct business activities in a manner that minimises environmental impact; comply with applicable environmental legislation and regulatory requirements; promote responsible waste management and recycling; reduce unnecessary consumption of energy, paper, water, and materials; encourage environmentally responsible procurement practices; support sustainable working practices and digital solutions; promote environmental awareness among personnel; and continually review and improve environmental performance.
Decarbonisation and climate action
We recognise the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and supporting the transition to a lower-carbon economy. We are committed to a practical and proportionate approach to decarbonisation by encouraging remote and hybrid working where operationally appropriate, reducing unnecessary travel and promoting virtual meetings, improving energy efficiency within our office environments, reducing paper usage through digital systems and electronic records, supporting responsible procurement and sustainable suppliers, encouraging waste reduction and recycling initiatives, and reviewing opportunities to reduce our overall carbon footprint over time.
Waste management and recycling
1Medical is committed to minimising waste generation and promoting responsible disposal practices. We promote recycling within our office and operational environments, dispose of waste responsibly and lawfully, use licensed waste disposal providers where required, reduce unnecessary printing and paper usage, and encourage reuse and sustainable consumption practices.
Energy and resource efficiency
We seek to improve energy and resource efficiency by encouraging responsible use of electricity and heating, switching off unused equipment and lighting, supporting efficient use of office resources, promoting digital systems to reduce paper consumption, and reviewing operational activities to identify opportunities for improvement.
Suppliers and contractors
1Medical expects suppliers, contractors, and service providers to operate in an environmentally responsible and legally compliant manner. All contractors and suppliers engaged on our behalf are expected to comply with applicable environmental legislation, follow environmental controls and procedures where relevant, dispose of waste responsibly, and report environmental incidents or concerns promptly.
Environmental incidents
Any environmental incident, pollution event, spill, or environmental concern is reported to management immediately, investigated appropriately, and addressed through corrective action, with controls reviewed to prevent recurrence.
Training and continuous improvement
1Medical provides appropriate training and awareness to personnel on environmental responsibilities, waste management and recycling, energy efficiency, incident reporting, and sustainable workplace practices. We periodically review our environmental performance, objectives, and operational practices, including monitoring targets, reviewing incidents and non-conformances, and assessing opportunities for efficiency improvements, to support continuous improvement.
